The Job - Field Service Engineer
The Role
Boyd Recruitment are recruiting for a self-motivated Field Service Engineer as a result of our clients growing business and increased contract wins. The role predominately involves installing and maintaining a large fleet of Condition Monitoring equipment for clients within the UK and Ireland as well as carrying out site surveys and electrical testing – primarily Partial Discharge measurements in air insulated and gas insulated substations. The equipment will typically be located within HV electrical compounds which you will be expected to travel to using company vehicle.
Main Responsibilities:
- Installation of new condition monitoring equipment including subsystems and communications
- Removal and relocation of existing systems
- Corrective maintenance
- Regular travel within UK and Ireland. May be opportunities elsewhere in future
- Manage and maintain spares and service equipment at the company premises
- Preparation of documentation and reports to support the field related work
Experience & Skills Required:
- At least 2 years experience installing and maintaining electrical equipment
- Minimum of HNC in relevant engineering background
- Problem solving
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Self-starter with a can-do attitude and willingness to learn
- Commercial awareness
- Current full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Power industry experience
- Data handling, planning, analysis and reporting skills
