SalaryOur client is a leading provider of cargo handling solutions and services to ports, terminals, distribution centres, and heavy industry. They are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join their team in Cambridge, looking after a number of client sites in across the Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire areas.
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance to the client's customers' equipment. You will perform preventative maintenance, fault-finding, and repairs on a range of cargo handling machinery, including straddle carriers, reach stackers, and forklifts. You will also install and commission new equipment and provide training to customers on the safe and efficient use of their machinery.
Field Service Engineer - Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on cargo handling equipment
- Diagnose and repair faults in hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Install and commission new equipment, including software upgrades and retrofits
- Provide training to customers on the safe and efficient use of their machinery
- Complete service reports and maintain accurate records of work performed
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies
Field Service Engineer – Required Skills
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role, with experience in hydraulics, electronics, and diesel engines
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong customer relationships
- A willingness to work flexible hours and travel to customer sites as required
- A valid UK driver's license
Field Service Engineer – Role Benefits
- Competitive salary of £37,000 basic + overtime, OTE £42/43K
