Job description

Jo Holdsworth Recruitment are currently working with a multi-award winning accountancy firm in Yorkshire. Due to their local expertise, they can proudly offer a bespoke and personalised service to each individual client. Having over 40 years’ experience, they have gone from strength to strength and grow year upon year making them highly successful within their field.

Due to growth, they are currently recruiting for a Finance Administrator to join them on a full time, permanent basis within their Thirsk office. This is an ideal role for someone who has worked as a Finance Administrator previously or someone who has done a similar role. It is an opportunity to join a friendly, welcoming team during an exciting growth period.

Some of the main responsibilities include:

  • Inputting customer & supplier invoices on internal systems
  • Entering journal transactions including wages and year-end adjustments
  • Completion of VAT returns
  • Preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss, aged debtors and aged creditors
  • Reconciliation of bank, cash and customer supplier accounts
  • General office administration tasks such as filing, scanning and organising documents
  • Front desk/ front of house responsibilities including meeting and greeting guests, setting up meeting rooms and answering incoming phone calls
  • Managing the client onboarding process and making sure all documentations are received and are accurate and up to date
  • Data entry as well as data analysis and correction
  • Completing Anti-money laundering checks

Experience and skills needed:

  • Experience of working within a financial administrative role, ideally within bookkeeping
  • Have the ability to manage a portfolio of VAT work
  • The ability to work on your own initiative, be a self-starter and be self-motivated
  • Be able to build and develop relationship with clients
  • Have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
  • Can work towards tight deadlines
  • Good accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills
