EMPLOYMENT: Temporary – full-time opportunity
Reed Accountancy is partnered with an established and highly reputable Public Sector Body in Coleraine in the appointment of a Finance Support Assistant to work on a full-time, temporary basis.
The successful candidate would be providing support in the operation of the Finance systems and in accordance with the policies and procedures of the relevant work area.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operate Finance systems for the input and output of data in accordance with the organisational internal control policies and procedures.
- Prepare and reconcile financial information in the relevant financial ledgers, ensuring data is properly and accurately processed and that specified deadlines for the completion of the work is met.
- Operate and adhere to strict control processes and perform control account reconciliations in accordance with the internal control procedures and best practice.
- Liaise with relevant external bodies to the area of work where required (e.g HMRC, Pensions bodies)
- Plan, organise and prioritise own workload and provide assistance to other team members (including sick/annual leave), to achieve agreed objectives and ensure all relevant deadlines are met, including statutory reporting deadlines.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors on related processes and control procedures, providing source documentation and related information as requested in a prompt and professional manner.
- Maintain and file data for the operation of systems in an efficient manner for easy access and ensuring all confidential information is filed appropriately.
What you’ll need to succeed!
- Minimum of one year’s experience of working in a large finance/administration office.
- Experience of reconciliation of financial records.
- Experience in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Willingness to travel as required by the needs of the post.
- Experience of inputting and extracting data in a complex financial IT system.
