Finance Assistant, London Football Club - £32,000, Hybrid (ideally 4 days in)
We are excited to be working with a London football club to help them find a permanent Finance Assistant to join their newly restructured team. Working directly with the FD and a qualified Management Accountant, you will be responsible for all transactional finance activity, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and credit control. This is a great role to help develop your finance skillset and eventually work your way up into a Management Accountant position. Suitable candidates will have at least 1-2 years of varied finance experience and are confident in their ability to work in a small team. Your Role
* To be responsible for processing purchase ledger transactions including checking and matching purchase orders and invoices
* Reconciliation of supplier statements to ensure that outstanding queries are reduced which gives credence to business forecasts.
* Monitor Sales Ledger, this includes raising sales invoices and credit notes on behalf of the business in the accounting system with regard to credit control and agreed collection procedures to minimize bad debts.
* Liaising with customers to ensure timely payments to assist with positive cash flows, enabling the business to assess and take advantage of opportunities to drive profit.
* Processing and recording incomes and payments including cheques, sundry and any foreign payments.
* Recording daily figures including weekly and monthly summaries to prepare journal postings to general ledger.
* Complete and process staff expenses and payment of claims and keeping accurate records for all claims in accordance with Club policy.
* Responsible for issuing petty cash payments and monthly reconciliation and replenishing.
* Prepare monthly bank reconciliation.
Your Skills & Qualifications:
* 2 years of varied Finance experience, ideally in a small team
* Energetic, enthusiastic and bright candidates who are keen to make an impact
* Experience using Sage accounting software would be preferred
* Strong Excel skills
* Ambitious candidate who is keen to study/develop their skillset
* An interest in sport/football would be useful!
