What you'll be doing...
We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking individual to join our team as a Finance Business Partner in charge of IT and strategic projects.
Reporting to the Director of Finance Business Partnering, the Finance business partner will be responsible for supporting a significant department or group of departments. The key client will at present be the Information Technology department but this may change according to business need. You will support the division in making informed financial decisions and driving profitability
The successful candidate will be a key member of the finance team, providing strategic and operational support to the business and contributing to the growth and success of the company.
You will collaborate closely with IT leaders and other stakeholders to drive informed decision-making, optimize resource allocation, and ensure the financial success of the company’s initiatives. Key Responsibilities:
- Business Partnering: Serve as a trusted advisor to IT and various business partners, providing financial insights and recommendations to support strategic initiatives.
- Oversee monthly Information Technology reporting with a cost optimization approach (identify opportunities to optimize costs across IT and administrative functions while maximizing efficiency and value).
- Oversee Reporting, Budgeting and Forecasting of the division and its departments: Service Delivery, Business Transformation and Technical Solutions.
- Oversee preparation of UK budget transformation to meet Corporate budget submission standards.
- Help the IT Director in their day-to-day financial analysis of divisional costs for reporting to the Chief Technology & Innovation Officer (CTIO).
- Drive monthly meetings with CTIO, Service Delivery (SDD), Business Transformation (BTD) and Technical Solutions (TSD) directors.
- Drive all Information Technology month end duties for all departments, including:
- Monthly accrual for all Divisions.
- Run receipted POs and GL movements.
- Manage Recharges by Division.
- Review and manage any odd movements on technology costs and make queries.
- Prepare management commentaries for the Group Financial Controller on movements.
- Manage and update E@syF’IT and any other IT reporting tools for all departments.
- Involvement in the budget preparation or analysis of variances between budget and actual figures.
- Involvement in negotiations with suppliers and preparation of a summary of key contracts’ terms (yearly basis) for IT or other business partners.
- Involvement in the staff cost strategy to align operations KPIs to payroll.
- Capex (ACT vs BUD): control the information reported to the Group, be a point of contact regarding any capex issues.
- Capex forecasting (for Budget or LE): responsible of the capex follow up and presentation to the Board or Group.
- Review and action, if needed, purchase order requisitions for division suppliers.
- Process all incoming division invoices, with inter division recharge splits, to ensure they align with agreed purchase orders.
- Be proactive to identify any improvement regarding processes currently in place in the company.
- ROI evaluation: Assess the return on investment (ROI) of projects and initiatives, providing guidance on prioritization and resource allocation.
- Ad hoc activities in the context of a change of IT system (go live with SAP in Jan-25).
A little bit about you...
Requirements:
- Advanced knowledge in finance, accounting, or related field, likely to be evidenced through academic or professional qualifications.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g. CPA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred.
- Previous experience in corporate finance, business partnering or FP&A, preferably in the Media industry and/or with a focus on IT functions.
- Able to adapt or be adapted to many different functions or activities.
- Analytical skills and financial modeling knowledge.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proactive and results-driven.
- Strong Excel skills and experience with financial systems and reporting tools (PowerBi, SAP…)
