Job description

Finance Compliance Manager, Salary £50-60k + excellent benefits package, Hybrid remote, with a requirement to attend the Stockton-on-Tees office occasionally when required (and other sites in the UK sporadically). Candidate to ideally be based in the North East or North Yorkshire area.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Compliance Manager to join an industry leading business with a multi-site UK operation. We are keen to hear from qualified accountant’s, practice trained with experience in compliance and working knowledge of SOX. This role could potentially suit a candidate looking to make their move from practice into industry.

The role:

The Finance Compliance Manager will lead the Finance Compliance processes particularly in respect of SOX, external financing and delegation of authorities.

  • Take ownership for the SOX compliance process including ensuring delivery of the various controls required.  This is for both finance and non-finance controls.
  • Ensure compliance with requirements of various asset-based financing and leasing arrangements.
  • Ensure compliance with Group delegation of authority requirements and maintenance of cascade with the UK businesses across both system and manual processes.
  • Own the balance sheet reconciliation control process and on a monthly basis ensure it is delivered including carrying out balance sheet reviews where required.
  • Support the preparation of the statutory accounts, external audit process and internal audits as and when required.
  • Carry out ad hoc controls and process reviews in line with business requirements.
  • Support the Head of Financial Accounting, Financial Control and Property and Director and CFO on specific projects as and when required.

Candidate requirements:

  • Qualified or almost qualified accountant with experience in a Finance Compliance Manager or similar role.
  • Practice trained.  Potentially this could be first move to industry.
  • Working knowledge of SOX.
  • Systems integration experience in previous roles is desirable
  • Strong analytical skills, and ability to present financial information to others from non-financial backgrounds
