Finance Director - Private Equity Fund

THE SEARCH: 

Altus Partners has partnered with a growing Private Equity firm that is looking to bring on a Finance Director to have oversight of corporate finance and the fund finance responsibilities for the European funds.
As FD, you will play a crucial role in supporting the firm's fundraising and growth initiatives, working closely with the Partners to drive financial excellence and strategic alignment.. The role will be responsible for oversight of accounting, valuations, performance reporting and will work with the partner on the budgeting process. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in finance, investment, and strategic planning to drive performance and unlock value across the portfolio. This opportunity will suit a proven FD, Senior Group Controller or Head of Finance within asset management or Private Equity.

THE ROLE

• Provide strategic financial leadership, overseeing all aspects of financial management for the Private Equity Fund.
• Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
• Financial Planning and Analysis: quarterly, annual and strategic business budgeting for the group as well as for the fund team levels
• Manage financial reporting and analysis, delivering timely and accurate insights to support decision-making.
• Collaborate closely with investment teams to evaluate potential acquisitions, assess financial performance, and optimise investment strategies.
• Drive operational efficiencies and cost-saving initiatives to enhance portfolio profitability.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management activities to support long-term financial sustainability.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, auditors, and regulatory authorities.

THE REQUIREMENTS: 

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• At least 8-10 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial reporting roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
• Experience with transformational projects such as implementing best-in-class accounting software, expense automation.
• Proven experience in financial services, Private Equity or investment management
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including expertise in IFRS and financial reporting requirements.
