Robert Half are working exclusively with a dynamic and innovative US Listed maritime company based in Porchester. With a strong commitment to excellence, they are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Finance Director to join the leadership team on an interim basis initially.
Position Overview: As the Finance Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy and direction of the company. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial guidance to support key business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Develop and implement comprehensive financial planning strategies to support short-term and long-term business goals.
- Conduct financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting to optimize resource allocation and enhance financial performance.
- Provide timely and accurate financial reports to the executive team and stakeholders.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and assess potential financial risks, proposing mitigation strategies to protect the company's financial health.
- Monitor market trends, economic indicators, and industry benchmarks to anticipate potential challenges and opportunities.
- Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies to facilitate audits and maintain compliance.
- Cash Flow Management:
- Manage cash flow effectively, optimizing working capital and liquidity to support operational needs.
- Implement strategies to minimize financial risk and maximize returns on investments.
- Strategic Financial Leadership:
- Provide strategic financial guidance to the executive team, contributing to the development and execution of business strategies.
- Evaluate and recommend financial strategies that align with the company's overall objectives.
- Team Management:
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Oversee the hiring, training, and development of finance staff to ensure a skilled and motivated team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, and either ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
- Proven experience as a Finance Director or in a similar senior financial role.
- In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and best practices.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into actionable insights.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Proficiency in financial management software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
What's on offer:
Up to £525 per day via Umbrella, plus the opportunity of temporary to permanent.
