Experience we Need
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised Commercial Finance Executive who can thrive in a fast-paced finance department. Ideal candidates will have:
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships within the finance team and the wider business.
- Strong numerical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- The ability to work under pressure and manage large volumes of data while consistently meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Part qualification in one of the major accounting qualifications (e.g., AAT, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) or previous experience in a commercial finance role.
The Role
As a Commercial Finance Executive, you will provide high-quality support to business teams, ensuring effective management of work in progress and timely, accurate invoicing. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing WIP and billing fundamentals, monitoring profitability and budgets.
- Preparing work-in-progress reports and ensuring recovery of committed costs.
- Coordinating existing and developing new monthly reports.
- Supporting the implementation of new information systems or technologies.
- Maintaining master data in the system and providing ad hoc financial tasks.
- Ensuring accurate WIP positions through system maintenance, estimate approvals, and job closing.
- Taking an active role in month-end closedown to produce accurate management information data and reports.
- Monitoring fees for key clients, involving analysis and reporting to track actual performance versus targets, time reporting, variance analysis, and PO tracking.
