This role has a starting salary of £43,923 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week.
We are excited to be hiring a new Finance Manager to join our fantastic Childrens Business Support Finance Team. The team is based in Reigate and Woking. This challenging role is a new addition to our team & allows scope for change & improvement. You will manage a busy team to analyse their processes & develop new streamlined processes. We need a skilled communicator as there will be much involvement with other teams we work closely with or support.
This is a12-month fixed term contract/secondment opportunity.

About the Team
The team is busy, filled with employees who work tirelessly to support the SEN Service whilst helping to streamline and improve processes. We are on a journey of continual improvement, and we are looking for a likeminded individual to join us!
The Children, Schools and Families Directorate provides a range of highly specialist services to children and young people who are vulnerable, and/or have special educational needs including complex disabilities, or additional needs such as English as a second language.
About the Role
As a Finance Manager, you will manage a team who provide co-ordinated and comprehensive financial support throughout the SEN Directorate in accordance with the County and Directorate Financial Procedures. In this role you will report to the Service Manager for Business Support Finance. You will need to be an expert in all processes and software used within your team - LIFT, EHM, EYES, LCS, Unit4, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Cisco, and Jabber.
This role supports the budget planning and monitoring activities for the SEN Directorate, working collaboratively with team members to provide a high quality and efficient finance services to support the Directorate's overall aim to improve outcomes for children. You will undertake line management of a team who carry out routine financial functions, playing a key role in the provision of a high quality and responsive finance service to operational teams and front-line staff. You will work to continuously apply improvements to increase customer satisfaction and work collaboratively to maintain a consistency of approach across the Directorate.
You will be solely responsible for the management, transformation and development of our processes and practices in this SEN Finance team. You will be working with the Business Support Finance Team, Corporate Finance and Commissioning, to look at ways to improve the service and this information will form the basis of a project plan to turn our service around and support the information coming from the operational SEN teams simultaneously.
On a day-to-day basis, you will manage team huddles and meetings, daily issues and workflows. You will also support other team members in areas of high volumes of work. Each week, you will meet with the Service Manager to ensure that feedback, mentorship and appropriate actions for the team are allocated. You will attend monthly meetings to update the Senior Management Team regarding any new processes, procedures or tasks.
