Our client is an ambitious carbon trading startup established in 2023 that is disrupting carbon markets through an innovative EU solar power-generated credit model. We directly originate high-quality emission offset credits by financing and owning renewable energy projects. Our end-to-end digital framework reduces friction for voluntary and compliance corporate buyers to transparently reduce their footprint at lower price points.
Headquartered in London with operations in the EU, our mission is to unleash the potential of emerging solar capacity for more accessible carbon transformation. We currently own two operating solar stations with a third under construction that all feed our carbon credits pipeline. Between our executive team’s deep carbon markets expertise and nimble startup mindset, we have a first mover advantage in this untapped market.
With a selective investor group and strong partnerships in place, we will expand our portfolio through further solar plant builds and country expansion. The Role:
- Finance leadership/oversight; liaise with accountants
- 5+ years finance experience; startup exposure preferred
- Oversee cash flow planning, fundraising, projections
- Build financial models/forecasts to guide strategy
- Analyse carbon business unit economics and ROI
- Establish processes for budgeting, compliance
- Ensure timely reporting/audits; strict controls
- Partner with executives on finance elements of decisions
- Not yet FD/CFO but strategic hand on financial tiller
- Experience in rapidly scaling finance function
