Finance Manager

Isca Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for a Finance Manager to join a growing, highly innovative business at their office on the outskirts of Exeter. Working as a key part of a friendly office team and supporting the Directors, this is an opportunity for a commercially savvy accountant to take ownership of the finance function and contribute towards the growth of the business through insightful financial reporting.

The Finance Manager will be responsible for a variety of duties including:

• General day to day running of accounts function: purchase and sales ledgers, bank reconciliations, payment runs, etc
• Monthly management accounts with commentary and variance analysis
• Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting
• Produce profit and loss, turnover year to date reports and ad hoc reports as required
• Cost accounting tasks including work in progress.
• MI analysis and reporting
• Proactively identifying grant funding for product development.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns
• Identifying and improving processes and controls
• Payroll
• Resolve accounts related queries
• Supporting year-end accounts by external accountants

Salary: £38,000 - £45,000pa depending on experience

Hours: 37.5hour week, Mon – Fri

Location: Office based with parking potential for some work from home

Finance Manager - The Person:

This is a perfect opportunity for an experienced accounting professional seeking to move into a key commercially focused position where you will work closely with the Directors and be an integral to the continued growth of the business.

This role will suit a proactive individual able to manage their own workload to meet deadlines, use your initiative to identify funding where relevant, and be influential in the smooth running of the business.

You will possess recent accounts experience including transactional accounting, management accounting, MI analysis and reporting, cash flow management and VAT returns.   

You will be a friendly, approachable professional with strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships, business partner and influence decision making.

Strong IT skills including Excel is essential, experience of Xero is desirable.
