Finance Manager - Path to FC role - Growing Business
Nigel Wright are delighted to be supporting a complex and rapidly growing engineering business in recruiting a Finance Manager. This role would suit a newly qualified/nearly qualified Management Accountant seeking the next step up or a qualified ACA Accountant seeking their first move into industry. This is a great role for a Finance Manager to join a business during a growth stage and ultimately progress to Financial Controller in the future.
The Role
The duties of the Finance Manager will include:
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis for review by the FD.
- Control and management of project based financial reporting.
- Effective management of business cashflow
- Preparation of VAT returns.
- Management of ONS returns.
- Preparation of annual financial budgets and monthly updates to budget holders.
- Preparation of annual statutory Accounts packs.
- Effectively manage, motivate and develop the Finance Assistant
- Review and authorise Payroll submissions
- Management of the annual audit, liaising with external advisors.
- Review and update company internal finance controls and processes.
- Assist the Finance Director with ad hoc projects and deputise for the FD where required
- Liaise with and support other departments to ensure the finance department is supporting the needs of the operating business.
The Person
The requirements for the Finance Manager role are:
- Qualified / Final stage ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent)
- Previous financial control and management reporting experience
- Previous project related financial reporting experience
- Relationship management, develops and builds strong working relationships internally and externally
- Continual strive for improvement
- High level of commercial awareness, able to use business and commercial acumen to deliver business objectives
- Data analysis, excel and management reporting
