Finance Manager required to join a public sector organisation based in Manchester on a part time temporary basis. My client is looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join their established finance function.
As the Finance Manager you will manage the financial and performance reporting, budgetary control, financial and accountancy procedures and systems, alongside the various duties below;
Key responsibilities of the Finance Manager
- To draft annual budgets and the Annual Report and Accounts
- To carry out monthly budget reconciliation, suspense account reconciliation, bank account reconciliation and ensure that sufficient funds are available in the bank for all activities
- To ensure that management accounts and performance reports are produced for both internal and external use
- To ensure regular budget reconciliation is carried out and internal audits and checks are in place
- To oversee the salaries processes
- To oversee the purchasing processes
- To maintain the finances and administration of the Company pension scheme
- Preparation of the monthly VAT returns
- Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure that it is kept up to date
- Establish, monitor and maintain administration systems to ensure efficient record keeping, reporting and compliance with procedures
- To ensure that all documents are retained and filed according to the Company's Data Retention and Disposal Policy
- To ensure that the administrative and financial computer systems are fully able to support and meet the present and future demands on the service
- To assist in identifying developments required to the administrative and financial computer systems to ensure they are fully able to support and meet present and future demands on the service
Required skills and experience of the Finance Manager
- CCAB or CIMA qualified Accountant
- Experience of managing monthly management accounts and quarterly board reports
- Experience preparing budgets and variance analysis
- Experience managing staff
- Excellent IT skills including knowledge of SAGE
