NLB Solutions are working with an owner managed business in Elstree that are looking for a Finance Manager to run a small team. The role will report directly into the MD and require the individual to upgrade systems and help develop the existing team. With lots of parking and a vibrant office, this will be role that offers a great chance help drive the business forward with the management team.
The company require a qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or CIMA) to join the team and liaise with external accountants and help to drive growth. Within the team there are individuals that do a lot of the day to day allowing the new Finance Manager to build relations across the business.
Duties:
- Lead the sourcing, implementation and roll out of a new accounting software.
- Preparation of monthly management accounts.
- Forecasting / Budgets -build and run the budget process.
- Business partnering and commercial arrangements - building strong relationships with other parts of the business.
- Banking relationship - be the primary contact for banking relationships.
- Weekly bank reconciliations
- Control environment - including ensuring process for spend approvals is managed and adhered to (as well as expense policies)
- Take ownership for the finance infrastructure, ensuring all processes and controls are scalable and automate where possible.
- Manage relationship with external payroll company
- Manage relationship with our accountancy firm and liaise with them on year-end audit.
- Responsible for regulatory compliance e.g. VAT returns
- Overall responsibility for the general ledger, revenue & receivables to payables cycles.
- Establish and maintain accurate and appropriate records to ensure data integrity.
- Managing and developing a team of 2 - 3.
Person Spec:
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures with hands on experience of using accounting software.
- Transactional finance management including invoicing and Credit Control responsibilities.
- Demonstrate SME/start-up experience with a background in process and controls implementation.
- Excellent communications skills.
- Excellent financial modelling and Excel skills.
- Qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
