Location: Ramsgate, Kent

Hours: 37 per week, 52 weeks per year

We are currently seeking a Finance Manager to ensure the accurate maintenance of financial information and lead on all aspects of financial control. This role plays a pivotal part in our school's financial management and administrative support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a culture of customer-focused service within the school's finance function.
- Ensure smooth financial management, including compliance with financial guidelines and overseeing all financial transactions.
- Provide timely information to budget holders and empower them to manage their budgets effectively.
- Evaluate and improve financial processes and systems to identify areas for efficiency.
- Manage virements and reconcile cash and bank accounts.
- Ensure accurate recording and reporting of VAT and other taxes.
- Liaise with the Local Authority and financial advisors professionally.
- Lead preparation for internal and external audits.
- Undertake general administrative duties as required.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in accurate financial recording and analysis within an electronic financial management system.
- Excellent knowledge of financial procedures, budget planning, and control.
- Ability to develop positive relationships with stakeholders and external agencies.
- Strong ICT skills and proficiency in MS Office.
- High levels of numeracy and literacy.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters.
- Understanding of equal opportunities principles.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant formal accounting qualification (e.g., AAT, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA).
- Previous experience in the education or public sector as Finance Manager is desirable.
- Knowledge of quality assurance procedures.
- Experience in managing budgets within a public sector context.
