Last year I renewed a longstanding working relationship with an exceptional CFO to assist them in appointing a new Head of Finance. Now I am delighted to be working with that new appointment to find them a unique individual to join as Finance Manager. This opportunity represents an exciting platform to actively mould and develop a blossoming finance function into a best in class, value adding capability.
The organisation is a multi-award winning, Private Equity backed SaaS business with a 20-year legacy of providing exceptional product and customer support. The business is still led by the founder who in themselves is an inspirational and charismatic leader. The company has witnessed YOY growth of 20%+ in the last few years and has a strategic development plan that is both exciting and achievable.
The role is designed to manage the day-to-day activities of the Finance function, instilling a culture of continuous improvement, customer service & ownership.
Your remit will include, but not be limited to:
- The management, mentoring and development of a small finance team, encompassing Accounts Payable, Receivable and Management Accounts.
- Ownership of the Revenue number including associated processes and generation of insightful reporting.
- Production of a suite of SaaS metrics and KPI’s for the business, Finance and the Private Equity investors, which is updated monthly and provides genuine insight into performance.
- Full responsibility for ad-hoc projects, for example:
o Implementation of new software e.g. for expenses
o Managing the cleansing of historic data sets
- Management of the month end process, ensuring this is completed within 5 working days and analysis is comprehensive and easy to understand.
- Business partnering with budget holders on a monthly basis to ensure they fully understand their results, know what they can do to influence their numbers in a positive way and gather any information which could be useful to Finance.
- Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly re-forecasts in collaboration with budget holders.
- Continuously look for ways to improve the processes within the Finance function, especially with regards to sales invoicing, procure to pay and general automation.
- Design, build and maintain a weekly cashflow forecast.
- Assist with the preparation of reporting for the Private Equity investors on a monthly and ad-hoc basis.
- Review and sign-off on fortnightly payment runs.
The ideal candidate will be fully qualified, ideally with experience in a high-growth SaaS business. Finance transformation, process development and finance system implementation are all necessary requirements in your skill set, together with a proven track record of effectively managing and developing a finance team and a desire to take ownership of tasks, seeing them through to completion.
You will be comfortable running and motivating a finance function, being hands on and also running project work as required. You will be enthusiastic, driven and self-motivated, with solid commercial acumen, excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. You will be resilient and cash focussed with a confident and comfortable approach to dealing with multiple stakeholders.
