Finance Manager - Media Business

A growing SME Media Business in Newcastle, is seeking an experienced and strategic Finance Manager to lead our finance team. The Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic financial guidance to support business growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, exceptional leadership skills, and a proactive approach to financial management.

Responsibilities:

1. Financial Planning and Analysis:

   • Develop and oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
   • Analyze financial performance and provide insights to senior management.
   • Collaborate with department heads to ensure alignment of financial goals with business objectives.

2. Financial Reporting:

   • Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports for management.
   • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
   • Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes.

3. Cash Flow Management:

   • Manage cash flow and liquidity, providing recommendations for improvement.
   • Monitor working capital and optimize cash management strategies.

4. Strategic Financial Leadership:

   • Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management and contribute to decision-making processes.
   • Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth.

5. Team Management:

   • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
   • Oversee the professional development of team members.

6. Risk Management:

   • Identify and assess financial risks, implementing strategies to mitigate them.
   • Stay informed about industry trends and changes in financial regulations.

7. Stakeholder Engagement:

   • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and financial institutions.
   • Act as a key point of contact for financial inquiries.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) is preferred.
• Proven experience as a Finance Manager in an SME environment, preferably in the media industry.
• Strong knowledge of financial management principles and accounting standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
