12 Month Placement Scheme – Finance (Rotational FunctionCustomer Service/Credit Department)

Location: Solihull, West Midlands

Salary: £22,400, Share Scheme, Pension, Flexible working arrangements with 25 days annual leave (plus Bank holidays). Flexible work arrangements requires 3 days onsite working week, with 2 days flexibility, which may be subject to review from time to time. Preference for candidate to be in commutable distance to the office.

What do we do?

Caterpillar Financial Services (UK) Limited was formed in 1992 and is located at Friars Gate in Solihull. We support Northern Europe (NEUR), South Africa and Treasury function. The company is part of the Financial Products Division (FPD) who in turn form part of CAT Inc.

The role will be based in our operations team, but you will also be able to work with others across our organisation. You will be directly involved at the heart of our business, participating on strategic projects, and driving continuous improvement.

What experiences can we offer you?

Our placement training scheme gives you the opportunity to experience different aspects within the operations team with opportunities to engage with the wider business with an option for rotational exposure between the customer service department and credit department.

Tasks may include:

  • Project support process improvements and development which may include automation of manual processes and other ongoing initiatives between the credit and customer service department.

  • Assist in analysing and monitoring portfolios trends.

  • Research support on segment performance.

  • Use data analytics and Excel proficiency to create reports and dashboards.

  • Participate in portfolio optimization projects.

  • Learn about risk assessment and management in the financial sector.

  • Overview to Customer Services, Credit, Transaction Processing and Portfolio functions

Who are we looking for?

As the type of roles within our business are becoming more diverse, we are looking for people who are open minded, excellent problem solvers and who have an ability to learn quickly. We are looking for talented, ambitious people from various backgrounds who are interested in setting out on the road to success. Candidates should be conscientious, hard-working with a good attention to detail and be able to work to deadlines. Looking for people who have a can-do attitude and demonstrate a positive approach. Enrolled in a relevant program with a focus on finance, economics, business, or a related field, with interest and aptitude in data analytics and automation will be an added advantage. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools will also be preferred.

We operate a conditional offer process; our highest performing placement students are fast tracked to our graduate development scheme. This includes a financial incentive and the potential of a summer work placement. Offers will be made based on the condition that a graduate role is available at the time of your graduation and that you achieve a min of 2:2

You will be on track to achieving a 2:2 within an Accountancy, Finance, or a relevant Business-related degree.

We will provide you the training and support you need to be successful at Caterpillar.

Recruitment Process:

Online Application: The first stage of the process is to complete the online application and attach your CV, this must be done before the closing date of the role that you're applying for. Once we reach the close date, we will begin reviewing all our applications, this may take a little while and we will contact you as soon as possible to let you know if you have been successful in moving forward to the next stage.

Stage one – Video Interview: If selected, you will be invited to attend a pre-recorded user-friendly video interview which you have one week to complete and submit. You are able to record your answers several times to allow you plenty of practice if required. Please ensure that you check your spam emails for this invite. At this stage if you are successful, you will be invited to attend an Assessment Centre either onsite or virtually between January and April 2024.

Stage two – Assessment Centre: The Assessment Centre day will look at a range of behaviours such as teamwork, decision-making, communication, and problem-solving. We aim to make these days fun, inclusive and as relaxed as possible.

Stage three – Offer: After the Assessment Centre, the Caterpillar team will review the feedback and extend offers to our preferred candidates, we aim to do this as quickly as possible. Placement Students will start on 8th July 2024.We look forward to receiving your application to join Caterpillar!
