Job purpose:
Leading a Claims Finance team who manage client-funded claim bank accounts on behalf of all Claims Management teams and their clients and to produce monthly Claims Management reconciliations and statements using Excel.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Management of Finance Assistants
- Ensuring that claims payments are paid within 24hrs of authorisation
- Ensure that receipts on client bank accounts are handled daily
- Continuously review funding levels in client trust accounts to ensure that fund depletion does not occur. Inform BD if any fund breaches below warning levels
- Monitor monthly reconciliations across client accounts within tight deadlines. This will involve reconciling cashbook to bank account and cashbook to monthly claims bordereaux
- Ensure clients are being chased to top up funds as required and are made aware of any underfunding
- Monitor monthly reconciliations across all suppliers ensuring credits are identified and deducted monthly and payments are within SLA
- Manage import of data into the accounts system
- Manage supplier invoice processes and liaise with suppliers as necessary
- Manage refunds to clients
- Liaise with clients and to ensure all requirements are met
- Attend audits as required
- Ensure all cheques are processed and banked in a timely manner
- Ensure all Davies fees are paid promptly
- Ensure bordereaux are accurate and delivered within SLA
- Ensure all reconciliation queries are investigated and fixed in a timely manner
- Deal with ad-hoc queries from Davies employees and clients
- Manage workflow across the department ensuring all SLA’s are met
- Manage the admin on SageX3
- Ensure Finance Assistants complete the monthly SageX3 Bank Reconciliation accurately and in a timely manner.
Skills & Experience
Strong reconciliation experience
Strong Excel skills are essential as most reconciliations use a range of formulae. Spreadsheets can be large with data required from multiple sources
- Ability to work to deadlines to ensure client demands are met for month end reconciliations
- Ability to act on own initiative
- Ability to see issues through from start to completion
- Previous insurance Finance experience is desirable
