Finance Team Supervisor (Accounts)

Based in Market Harborough, Deichmann Shoes UK Head Office, is looking to recruit an enthusiastic & motivated individual to join our Finance team as an Accounts Supervisor on a permanent basis.
Salary is GBP31,000.
Hours are Monday - Friday, either 8.00am - 4.30pm or 8.45am - 5.15pm.
This role is predominantly office based, with 1 day per week working from home permitted, once fully trained.

Ideal candidate:

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful applicant will support and assist in all aspects of work undertaken within the Finance & Payroll Department, including, accounts, imports, payroll, and general administration.

Key activities:

• Completing all activities associated with high volume accounts payable processing
• Undertaking balance sheet account reconciliations
• Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts
• Using management accounts to produce reports on a weekly and monthly basis
• Run cost reports and reconcile spend against budgets, including the investigation and resolution of discrepancies
• Supervisor of other accounts team members.
• Responsibility for preparation of compliance returns (e.g. packaging, waste, energy usage and business rates)
  

Personal characteristics:

• Educated to A level or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years experience in an accounting role, and able to demonstrate knowledge of a variety of accounting tasks.
• Keen to take on additional responsibility and contribute to the operational efficiency of the wider business.
• Ideally, intermediate level in Excel.
• Experience using SAP preferable.
• Previous experience supervising others would be beneficial.
• Strong analytical skills and an attention to detail
• Ability to prioritise, plan work & manage time efficiently to meet deadlines
• An effective communicator both verbal and written
• A keen learner who can pick up new tasks quickly.
• Have excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
