Job Introduction

Our Swift Finance team is looking for a Ticketing Officer to assist the Ticketing Assistant Accountant in the financial administration of WMCA’s ticketing schemes, with a focus on maintaining financial integrity and ensuring sound management of operator income.

As a Ticketing Officer, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that significant amounts of income and expenditure are correctly accounted for across multiple accounts, maintaining excellent and detailed auditable information to support payments and income-recovery.

What will you be doing?

  • Administer ticketing income and expenditure accurately, maintaining full audit trails.
  • Complex reconciliations.
  • Ensure that all ticketing transactions are accounted for correctly, income due is recovered and all operator payments are made using the most relevant allocations.
  • Assist the Ticketing team in ensuring that future developments in ticketing are accounted for correctly and efficiently to facilitate accurate distribution of income to operators.
  • Ensure that all income and expenditure holding accounts are monitored to agreed standards, ensuring that transactions are fully supported and auditable, that holding accounts are reviewed to agreed timescales and that any issues are flagged to the relevant member of the Finance team.
  • Provide ticketing support to the Swift Delivery Team, Ticketing Delivery Team and other areas within Finance and manage relationships with these stakeholders to ensure that any issues with payments or income collection are resolved quickly.

About you.

  • Experienced in the use of accounting procedures.
  • Experienced with complex financial reconciliations, with the ability to provide financial commentary.
  • Knowledge of key fundamental accounting principles, including double-entry and role of audit.
  • Experience of undertaking reconciliations independently.
  • Good working knowledge of the reconciliation process and an understanding of accounting (more than straightforward reconciliations).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office packages.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, with the ability drive to resolve complex queries.
  • Previous or current experience of administering and monitoring payment systems would be an advantage, but not essential.
