We are looking for a dedicated Financial Accountant to join a succesfull and growing finance team. Reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager, you will play a crucial role in the preparation of monthly reports. This role is ideal for someone who is organised, detail-oriented, and thrives under pressure, with a good technical understanding of Financial Statements and a proactive approach to improving processes.
Day to Day of the role:- Assist in bringing accounts to trial balance and preparing financial accounts while taking responsibility for aspects of the general ledger.
- Prepare and post journals, maintain general ledgers in SAP, and produce an accurate trial balance for each entity.
- Undertake reconciliations of balances under your control and propose remedies for discrepancies.
- Support the Financial Accounting Manager by reviewing journals and reconciliations for approval.
- Develop processes within the Financial Accounts team to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Work with the Financial Accounting Manager to prepare various reporting packages for external and internal stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation of year-end Financial Statements and liaise with external auditors to ensure timely provision of information.
- Provide ongoing support to junior members of the team and contribute to team projects.
- Studying for Chartered Accounting qualification.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate financial information.
- Good technical understanding of Financial Statements.
- Intermediate level skills in Excel and comfort with IT systems.
- Proactive in identifying smarter ways of working and questioning the value of tasks.
- Experience in preparing financial reports and working to month-end deadlines.
- Ability to work closely with external auditors and meet tight year-end deadlines.
- Ability to build positive relationships with senior members of the Finance team, other departments, and external auditors.
