Financial Accountant
We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join our UK&I Controlling Team. This role is part of a dynamic group, focused on controls, assurance, financial reporting, and accounting.
As Financial Accountant, you will concentrate on balance sheet control and income statement management. Working closely with the Senior Financial Accountant, you’ll actively contribute to process improvements and cost management efficiencies.
Your responsibilities will include fulfilling financial duties for customer contracts, ensuring accurate reporting and timely reconciliations.
In this role, you will play a key part in driving important financial processes, with a focus on understanding and addressing finance-related needs proactively. The role is integral to delivering value-added financial services to account leadership and customers, aligning with the business objectives of the organisation.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Working within a robust internal financial controls framework, completing controls self-assessments, ensuring control procedures are adhered to and financial control recommendations are implemented.
- Completion of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring compliance with the UK&I reconciliation requirements, and drive accuracy in financial reporting by proactively ensuring reviewer recommendations are implemented.
- Supporting the external audit, Group and UK&I internal audits and financial controls & assurance reviews.
- Month-End Close cycle for all allocated accounts.
- Month-End Close activities, including the calculation, review and processing of all accruals, prepayments, revenue related transactions across customer contracts.
- Supporting the Senior Financial Accountant in the review of overdue accounts receivable, and trade working capital reports and taking corrective action where required.
About You
- Qualified or part qualified (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent) or equivalent qualification by experience
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Analytical skills and the ability to interpret and pass on complex information
- Good judgement and decision-making skills
- Excellent organisation, planning and time management skills
