Financial Accountant

Paying up to £50,000 this leading city centre international services group are looking for a Financial Accountant, who will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and analysis for their UK operation. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and assess financial statements in line with accounting standards, ensuring accuracy and rigour.
• Audit:   Act as a key contact in the external audit process and coordinate with relevant Finance teams to achieve audit deliverables.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
• Financial Accounting : Supervise monthly and yearly closure procedures, encompassing journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals, to ensure punctual and precise financial reporting.
• Prepare quarterly VAT returns for review, including risk area assessments.
• Assist in the production of corporation tax calculations and payments.
• Financial Controls: Establish and sustain financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
• Support ad hoc projects and tasks as required by the business, related to financial operations.

THE PERSON

• Ideally degree educated and either a finalist or newly qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Demonstrated experience (3+ years) in financial accounting and reporting, preferably within a similar environment.
• Proficiency in financial systems and software and advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• Attention to detail with a commitment to precision and integrity in financial reporting.
• Effective communication with the ability to foster collaboration across departments and cultivate robust relationships.
• Proactive approach to continuous improvement and a readiness to tackle fresh challenges.
