Financial Controller

Reed are working exclusively with an exciting retail health and personal care business based in the UK to recruit an experienced Finance Controller.

We are on the hunt for a seasoned Financial Controller to join our client’s dynamic team. As a direct report to the CFO, you will play a pivotal role in steering the financial helm, ensuring the smooth operation of the company’s accounting systems and the integrity of financial data.

Job Type: Full-time, hybrid after 2-3months

Location: Birmingham, Aston

Salary: £55k - £60K

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the complete suite of all accounting operations
• Lead the development and execution of budgets and financial forecasts
• Ensure the timely publication of monthly financial statements
• Spearhead the preparation of all required regulatory reporting, maintaining full compliance with relevant standards
• Conduct thorough research on technical accounting issues to ensure full compliance
• Facilitate and support the processes for both month-end and year-end closing
• Maintain rigorous quality control over all financial transactions and reporting mechanisms
• Oversee compliance with all local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience in a Financial Controller capacity
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting and finance
• CPA designation, or an equivalent qualification such as CMA 
• Proficiency in accounting software, including QuickBooks and Sage Intacct desirable 
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
