Description
Financial Controller duties:
- Ensuring the accurate maintenance of the organisation's financial records and the preparation, as agreed upon and mandated, of pertinent reports on the charity's financial affairs.
- Preparing management accounts and associated data on a monthly basis, following the agreed format, which includes forecasts and monthly reports.
- Ensuring that all supplier purchases and invoices are appropriately controlled, and that all revenue is accurately recorded.
- Ensuring the organisation has suitable internal financial management and control systems in place, including regular financial reporting of management accounts and projections.
- Liaising with managers and other budget holders to establish, oversee, and report on monthly spending plans for their individual areas.
- Communicating as needed with the charity's outside auditors to complete the annual audit, including creating the annual financial statements, writing the audit management letter from the auditors, and sending letters of representation to the auditors from the organisation.
- Coordinating with the CEO and COO to oversee the growth and management of the finance team, including assigning roles and duties, establishing yearly goals and targets, managing individual performance, and conducting monthly reviews.
Profile
As Financial Controller you will be:
- A qualified accountant: ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent.
- Strong financial accounting experience.
- Advanced excel skills.
- Highly organised, with a structured approach to work and strong attention to detail.
- Able to multi-task, prioritise workload, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
