VisionFR is delighted to be helping a leading independent Creative Agency find a Financial Controller on a 9 months’ contract. The agency is based in London and would ideally like the candidate to attend at office 3 days a week. This is a lovely agency with a small finance team. They work on a large range of blue-chip Clients and do great work for them. The agency are looking for a great business partner who has good commercial insight and strong financial skills. Reporting into a portfolio CFO and the COO. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Paprika and will have worked within an SME creative agency based in the UK.

The Role of the Financial Controller - Contract

• Manage the whole billing process (incl. invoicing Reports, raising PO’s, trend analysis)
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annualFinancial Reports with full analysis and Forecasts
• Prepare The VAT Return and submit / Reconcile the balance sheet
• Produce monthly management packs incl; Revenue recovery and burn, Full utilisation and cashflow Forecasting
• Manage over-servicing and profitability reporting;monitor key drivers and Highlight areas of concern
• Manage revenue accruals/ deferrals Liaising with wider agency as needed
• Support forecasting by preparing relevant information and fully liaising with Business directors and all Stake holders
• Oversee Credit control and minimize overdue/ Bad debts
• Oversee the Bank position and Reconciliations together with managing Cashflow
• Manage the year-end audit (ensuring Audit file and information is ready and accurate)
• Manage monthly and yearly payrollpayments and queriesreporting accurately to HMRC and Journal posting - PSA / P11D reporting
• Be the go-to person forfinance queries and supporting the wider agency
• Lead monthly Job / Project meetings to monitor and ratify income against expected and resource, grades levels, new hires
• Collaborate with teams to optimize financial processes, efficiencies and resource allocation
• Finance onboarding for new starters and lead agency finance & excel training
• Manage the Finance assistant

Key Skills & Qualification

• CIMA/ACCA qualified accountant
• Paprika experience
• Commercial & strategic thinker
• Advanced Excel skills
• Impeccable attention to detail
• Team Player, personable, collaborative able to be assertive where necessary
• Great Communication skills both written and spoken
• Experience of working in an SME creative agency
• Fairly Quick Start
