The Job Opportunity
Supporting the Finance Director, you will be responsible for;
- Preparation and publication of accurate and timely monthly management accounts and reports.
- Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company accounting records and financial systems
- Managing the external audit, providing auditors with draft statutory accounts.
- Managing the working capital components of the business, specifically stock, debtors and bank balances.
- Co-ordinating the preparation of budget, financial forecasts and variance analysis
- Review, submission and payment of VAT
- General tax compliance (Corporation tax, VAT, P11d, PAYE/NIC)
- Working alongside the Finance Director regarding tax planning and liaising with tax advisors
- Developing business and accounting policies and processes, ensuring technical accounting compliance
As a service to the wider business, you will liaise with a variety of key stakeholders, some based in other locations, acting as a finance business partner for any finance queries. In this position, you will manage a small team and effectively lead, mentor and support individuals to develop within the accountancy field.
The Candidate
Our client is interested in taking on a Qualified Accountant to operate at Financial Controller level with proven financial accounting experience which may have been gained in a professional practice environment or in a similar role. The successful candidate will;
- Demonstrate drive and energy
- Have strong leadership and communication skills
- Have a "completer-finisher" mentality
- Have the ability to work to deadlines
- Have strong financial controls experience and will have ideally developed or enhanced financial management systems or processes
- Be hands-on and prepared to "roll their sleeves up", able to get into the detail while also having the ability to contribute at a senior level
