My client a leading financial institution are looking to bring in a new Financial Data Analyst to add value to their highly successful team. We are looking ideally for a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Data Analyst. This candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial markets and data analysis techniques, and will play a critical role in analysing large datasets, identifying trends, and providing insights that will drive strategic decision-making within the organisation.
This role will be based from the teams Edinburgh office, with hybrid working models to be discussed during interview. - please note that only candidates based in Scotland will be considered for this position.
All candidates must also have the full right to work in the UK with not current or future sponsorship requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Collect, clean, and analyse Financial Data from various sources to identify trends and patterns.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and decision-making processes.
- Create insightful reports and dashboards to communicate findings to key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and drive process improvements.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in financial analysis and data visualisation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Computing. Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in financial analysis or data analysis role within the finance industry.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience working with SQL and/or other database query languages.
- Solid understanding of financial markets, accounting principles, and statistical concepts.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Experience with financial systems and software.
