Job description

The Role: I am recruiting a Financial Planning Assistant to join the team at Mercury Wealth Management, an independent Accredited and Chartered Financial Planning firm based in Stockton-on-Tees (TS18).

The Role: The successful Financial Planning Assistant will be an integral member of the collaborative and client focused Client Service and Operations team. You will be the first point of contact for clients, developing relationships with them and working to ensure that they receive a service of the highest standard. You will manage the day-to-day operational requirements of the business, preparing for client reviews and dealing with transactional requests as well as providing operational support to the Paraplanners and Financial Planners.

Salary and Benefits: £25,000 - 32,000 (dependant on experience) + benefits including bonus scheme (up to 10%) + 35 days holiday (including bank holidays and 3 days holiday between Christmas and New Year) + pension + life insurance + medical insurance + electric car scheme + flexible working hours + ongoing professional training and development. Supporting the team of Financial Planners and Paraplanners this is an office-based role and while it is ideally a full-time position, we are happy to facilitate flexible working or part-time hours for the right candidate.

The Person: We are keen to consider either a highly competent administrator who enjoys working in a varied and involved support role or someone who would like to progress within the Financial Planning industry and work towards becoming Diploma qualified and eventually Chartered and Certified (training and support with exams will be provided).

Either way, the successful Financial Planning Assistant (Financial Services Administrator) be a strong relationship builder with excellent customer service skills, and they will be proactive, organised and detail orientated, with excellent administrative abilities. They are likely to have experience of working in a professional services environment, ideally financial services, but they will not be expected to know the intricacies of Financial Planning as training and support will be provided.

Financial Planning Assistant (Financial Services Administrator), responsibilities include:

  • Provide the customer service and administrative assistance involved in delivering a market leading Financial Planning service.
  • Professionally greet and assist clients, ensuring their needs are promptly addressed.
  • Develop relationships with and clients and support them throughout the year, assisting in their annual planning process.
  • Efficiently manage calendars, ensuring all meetings and events are scheduled and prioritised appropriately.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring all necessary documents and processes are completed efficiently.
  • Arrange client review meetings and prepare review packs.
  • Handle all forms of correspondence, including emails and phone calls, ensuring they are addressed in a timely and professional manner.
  • Deal with all client queries and requests, including Withdrawals, Deposits
    , Change of personal details, Rebalancing etc.
  • Communicate with relevant providers or agencies to collate financial information on behalf of the client or Paraplanner.
  • Prepare illustrations, Application forms and assist with the production of presentations, Annual Suitability Reports and other financial documents.
  • Maintain and update records, databases, and cloud-based filing systems to ensure accuracy and easy retrieval.
  • Uphold the reputation, values and responsibilities of the firm at all times.

Financial Planning Assistant (Financial Services Administrator), skills and experience required:

  • Administrative experience gained in a financial or professional services environment.
  • A good level of education, graduate level or qualified by experience, with a strong aptitude for numbers and technology.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, caring and customer centric approach.
