Financial Reporting Manager - Sutton
We are looking for a highly skilled Financial Reporting Manager who will be responsible for overseeing our Financial Reporting processes and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in preparing accurate and timely financial statements, managing audits, and providing strategic insights to senior management.
£350 - £400 per day PAYE.
Position Overview:
These roles provide a broad service that set policy and provides advice to support and assure all of the council's day to day activities. They gather information required by other groups to make strategic decisions and translate this into corporate policy and strategic advice. They have little or no direct accountability for outcomes; however, what they are
accountable for is the quality of advice they provide to business leaders. At the lower levels, these roles tend to focus on research and analysis and the interpretation and implementation of policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Manage the month-end close process, including reviewing journal entries and reconciliations.
- Coordinate and oversee annual audits, working closely with external auditors to ensure timely completion.
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate Financial Reporting.
- Provide analysis and insights on financial performance to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations, and ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and efficiency gains in Financial Reporting processes.
Qualifications:
- CCAB (or equivalent) qualified
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or ACA qualification preferred.
- Proven experience (X years) in Financial Reporting, preferably in the financial services industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting standards.
- Experience managing audits and working with external auditors.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
