Description
Sensetech Systems is an independent Fire Alarm, Security and Structured Data Cabling Company based within the City of London and close to London Bridge. The company offers fully integrated and bespoke systems which are at the forefront of technology in Fire Alarm Systems, Security and Data Systems.
Due to business growth and their £50million growth strategy; Sensetech Systems are now looking to recruit three more apprentices. The apprentices will initially be paired with existing engineer and mentor. Sensetech Systems are keen to offer individuals the chance to secure a career within the Fire and Security sector.
This vacancy is for 3 x London-based roles- Barnet, Croydon and Stratford. Applications will be considering on the basis of which location you live closest to.
The successful apprentices will be entering into a fabulous environment where all staff are nurtured to grow and develop. Apprentices at Sensetech will work on Security, Fire, Maintenance and Data and grow to become a multi disciplined engineer.
Apprentices will be supported from day 1 and have exposure and contact to all divisions, departments and people.
All apprentices will have their travel paid for in addition to a good salary. A company pension scheme is also available.
PPE will be provided if required for any projects.
Please note - the salary for 17 year olds is £16,500 and £18,000 for anyone 18+
Entry requirements
Desired skills/qualities:
- No criminal record and able to pass an enhanced DBS background check.
- You must live near to one of the following 3 locations; Croydon, Barnet or Stratford.
- Hold a full UK drivers license, or commit to obtaining one by the end of the first year.
- GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or above is desirable, though Skills for Security can help study towards functional skills level 2 for the right candidate.
- Must own a smartphone which you would be happy to use whilst at work for calls/messages.
- Basic electrical awareness and power tool knowledge would be advantageous.
Sensetech will mentor and train you on all areas that are relevant to the day to day duties of the role, for example:
- Security
- Fire
- Maintainence
- Data
Delivery of the Level 3 apprenticeship via block release classroom learning - 1 week in every 8 weeks.
Completing all training tasks allocated during your block release weeks at the training centre and gathering any site evidence needed to supplement your studies.
Complete an annual assessment at the training centre and take part in any additional training courses that the company require you to complete.

Future prospects
A Full time Fire and Security engineer role will be on offer for the right candidate following the completion of the apprenticeship.
A company vehicle would also be issued at this point and progression within the business and opportunities within different departments will be on offer.
