AddressRole: Fire Door Installer
Location: East Anglia
Job Purpose/Background:
Our client is continuing to expand on their already successful reputation in the delivery of Passive Fire Protection works and have secured further works with clients across the Region.
Compliance is key in the industry & although they are seeking qualified & competent Fire Door fitters & repair teams, they will provide all of the necessary training for you to obtain certification through our Third-Party Accreditor, GNVQs and indeed progression throughout the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- To work to approved installation guides and techniques undertaking Fire Door set installations and undertaking remedial works to existing doors, including re-lipping of door leaves, resealing of cavities, replacement ironmongery and adjustment to ensure compliant gaps are met.
- Ability to interpret and adhere to the manufacturer’s specifications, ensuring that compliance is always at the forefront of all works.
- Able to use digital technology (Tablet) to record installation evidence to the required standard.
- Working either individually or as part of a team where management and technicians work close together to solve problems.
- Be able to communicate effectively and courteously with work colleagues and our customers alike.
- To understand the importance of compliant installation within the fire safety sector
Knowledge / Experience:
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Carpentry or Joinery or be able to demonstrate previous experience undertaking this type of work
- NVQ in Passive Fire would be an advantage.
- FIRAS / BM TRADA / IFC accredited would be an advantage although this could be provided.
- Full tool kit to carry out the works required, ideally all battery-operated tools
- Full UK Drivers licence
