Location: Eastleigh, with the requirement to travel to various locations across Hampshire & the Isle of Wight. After the initial training period, there is an opportunity for some flexibility to work from home.

Salary: Scale 6, £30,783.00 - £32,772.00 pa

Hours: 37.00 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

We are recruiting for a Firearms Enquiry Officer to join a dedicated and well-established team on a full-time and permanent basis. The role of Firearms Enquiry Officer is challenging but very rewarding, with full training and development opportunities available.

About the role


This is a challenging but rewarding role, and while development training will be provided, applicants should provide evidence of experience in the areas of firearms and relevant legislation.


The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting enquiries for the grant, variation and renewal of firearm, shotgun and explosive certificates, and carrying out visits and enquiries in cases where the suitability of the certificate holder requires review, ensuring compliance with the relevant legislation, Home Office guidance, Force police and public safety.


This particular vacancy will be located at Eastleigh, but will cover the surrounding geographical area (including Eastleigh, Southampton, Winchester and Botley) and travel to various locations through Hampshire and the Isle if Wight will be required.
