Main purpose of the role:
- To lead site activities necessary to ensure that the manufacturing, Health & Safety, as well as food safety requirements are met in full to company & customer standards.
- Ensure that the mills & blending plant produce the correct quality, efficiently, effectively, ensuring the Food Safety of our products & the Health & Safety of our colleagues
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Interpret Quality information and act on results where necessary & take the appropriate action
- Support continual plant & product quality Improvement ‘s
- Ensure efficient operation of all process areas where applicable i.e. Bulk out loading, Wheat intake and Blending.
- Contribute to minimisation of downtime to meet & improve site performance.
- Ensure product protection throughout the process.
- Liaise with other colleagues, both internal and external to ensure the efficient operation of all relevant processes.
- Participate in training and development.
- Ensure compliance with all legal requirements including Health and Safety, Environmental, Hygiene. & Food Safety
- Contribute to improvement and awareness of Health and Safety, Environmental and Hygiene issues.
- Understand and interpret where necessary Company Process Standards and systems.
- Assist in general hygiene duties within the milling units including Clean as You Go.
- To help in any way, other site members in achievement of their KPI’s.
- Deal with breakdowns as necessary and appropriately
- Ensure compliance with all relevant company and statutory legislation and contribute towards compliance in the areas of Food Hygiene, Health and Safety, BRC, Product safety (HACCP) and all other areas as appropriate.
