ABOUT THE ROLE
A Fixed Asset Accountant is required to join the busy Finance team with HellermannTyton. The FAA will be required to understand and account for capital expenditure from idea stage to capitalisation. The FAA will also take part in capital budgets, forecast and month-end reporting, completing all stages of the accounting process.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Maintain Fixed Asset register reconciliation, including detailed CWIP (capital work in progress expenditure) reconciliation – see below
- Ensure monthly reconciliation of CWIP and ensure all transactions are accounted for correctly and that all financial impacts and implications are recognised.
- Account for additions, disposals and deprecation correctly, within the accounting system
- Responsible for SOX adherence for the areas of responsibility.
- Monitor projects to ensure added to Fixed Asset register as they are commissioned/completed.
- Monitor asset existence and ensure all asset labels are applied and accurate records maintained.
- Proactively review finance process performance and identify continuous improvement initiatives.
- Management reporting to comply with internal and external auditing requests, as well as Group requirements.
- A good understanding of IFRS16 would be an advantage
- General support within the finance department
Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Qualified CIMA, ACCA or equivalent
- Minimum of three years commercial experience, ideally in manufacturing
Technical
- Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office, being especially strong in Excel and Data manipulation
- Knowledge of accounting systems, ideally with costing/ERP experience
- Strong business understanding and ability to convey concise simplified business cases
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills that can be adapted for both financial and non-financial colleagues
- Ability to prioritise and organise workload
- Ability to produce accurate work and to pay attention to detail
- Flexible attitude to work, both proactive and reactive
- Strong personal drive, an ability to make things happen and see things through to completion
- Displays strong team working behaviours and is supportive to colleagues
- Tenacious problem solver with determination to identify, flag and explain root causes of problems and make recommendations
Working Hours:
This is an office based role in our Manchester site (Wythenshawe), with partial remote working possible.
Working hours: Monday- Thursday 0830 - 1700, Friday 0830 – 1530
