Got People are recruiting for a fleet inventory Controller. The main duties involved are to Co-ordinate and undertake parts procurement to meet the workshop guidelines and stated priorities. Utilisation of the fleet transport computer software system to include the following:
- Maintenance of all transactions and issues records, updating the fleet management system for all processes as required;
- Assisting Technicians in identification of technical parts for procurement and, utilising experience, proffering appropriate and sometimes novel alternatives where availability problems have been identified;
- Negotiating and agreeing pricing discount structures and stocking levels for a selection of complex specialist machinery, whilst ensuring strict control of commercially sensitive information.
- Maintaining a library of relevant technical manuals, spare parts catalogues and identifying and assimilating information on new stock items based on demand and obsolete stock;
- Adequate stocks of personal protective equipment and work wear for use across Environmental Services and in accordance with health and safety legislation
- Primary controller of all substances purchased or used by Fleet Services that are hazardous to health (COSHH), ensuring full compliance and maintenance of all relevant information, data sheets, storage and product awareness before use.
- Control of the purchase and disposal of all Fleet Services Hazardous Waste materials.
Also to be responsible for all aspects of the Stores section including procurement, disposal of obsolete stock, financial and administrative processes, including verification of goods received and invoice payment.
Monitor and progress orders and parts requisitions, ensuring achievement of delivery deadlines in order to maximise the efficiency of the workshops. Oversee the receipt and verification of goods/parts for technical suitability and operational condition, ensuring that rejected items are returned to suppliers, maintaining computer records of these processes.
The post holder will be expected to work on rotating shift patterns between 7.00 am and 7.00 pm.
Physical Effort: Able and willing to undertake the regular movement and lifting of heavy components associated with the running a heavy goods vehicle and plant transport stores.
Working Environment: The work will be carried out within a reception area of large commercial workshop and inspection bays. At times the post holder will be exposed to noise, temperature changes and unpleasant smells coming from vehicles being repaired or inspected within the main workshop.
