Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Floater Package Lead, based in Aberdeen.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage the technical interfaces between EPCIC contractor, other contractors and Company to ensure successful completion of detailed design, fabrication, assembly and hook-up/commissioning of the floating wind turbine
  • Identify and mobilize the required support to answer any difficulties that may impact the delivery
  • Follow-up the certification of the detailed design phase by a third-party class approval organism
  • Assist the pilot leader with the preparation of internal reviews
  • The job holder will deputy the project leader during his absences
  • Ensure decisions are made in full understanding of Asset integrity and Major Accident Hazard management, demonstrating to the wider business (is there any external stakeholders on this) that risks from major accident hazards are being managed
  • Contribute to internal reporting (technical reports, portfolio management, budget tracking, etc…) and presentations to management to ensure key stakeholders are aware of the project progress including cost and schedule progress updates and manpower requirements against approved Budgets, highlighting key challenges and providing solutions to mitigate
  • Collaborate with R&D Wind program to develop the R&D objectives for the pilot, particularly for the Industrialization objectives and Operation & Maintenance phase of the pilot
  • Ensure that the FOW pilot project benefits from ongoing R&D activities and propose R&D work relevant for the pilot project.
  • Coordinate the internal technical support for the study execution (technical clarifications, documents technical review etc)
  • Lead the Floater package element of the project budget is respected and any variances are highlighted and mitigated
  • Responsible for ensuring all activities are undertaken in accordance with Company rules and Group specifications and where required, submit derogations with support from the company's TA's & SME's
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and OneTech, and seek assistance from wider business as required to expedite resolution of issues and/or remove blockers
  • Ensure employees, contracted staff and contractor personnel are competent, properly supervised and are aware of the relevant systems of work and procedures to embed a collaborative working culture based on quality, delivery, performance and respect for health, safety and environmental issues

Experience & Qualifications:
  • MSc or Masters in engineering discipline and membership of relevant Professional Body (chartered engineer or equivalent)
  • Experience in offshore project engineering phase and EPCIC Management
  • Proven track record in delivery of subsea and/or offshore wind projects including offshore installation experience and contract management
  • Relevant work experience
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills with the ability to work in an interdisciplinary and international team
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic and changing environment
  • Effective communicator with the ability to explain complex ideas in a clear and understandable manner
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
