Job description 1
This is an exciting opportunity to join an Asset Performance team in the UK’s biggest environmental organisation. We manage Flood Risk assets across the East Midlands to ensure they protect our communities from the risk of flooding. As professional Asset Managers, you will be part of a team inspecting, maintaining and refurbishing Flood Risk assets which include kilometres of riverbanks, sluice gates and flood storage reservoirs amongst other things.
We are looking for a highly motivated, confident and enthusiastic person to join our team and help deliver our priority workloads. You will primarily focus on helping with the delivery and assurance of our ongoing internal and external maintenance programmes. This may include undertaking site visits to understand our maintenance requirements and to ensure the work is undertaken in accordance with our instructions. You will also be given the opportunity to get involved in other priority workloads across the area.
Incident response remains a top priority for the Environment Agency. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
The team 1
Asset Performance Teams manage flood and coastal erosion risk assets to reduce the impact of flooding. We do this by managing the whole lifecycle of our assets, including the effects of climate change through planning, delivery, maintenance, and decommissioning. We are a supportive and high performing team, who will support your continued learning development.
Experience/skills required 1
We are seeking applicants with a passion for Asset Management or engineering and a drive to protect our communities at risk of flooding. You will have asset or data management experience, preferably in the water environment.
You will have excellent communication skills, be proficient in data and information management. Ideally you will have knowledge of working with 3rd parties, contractors and writing scoping documents.
You may need to travel to offices/locations where public transport is limited so a full UK driving licence is required.
You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incident or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment. Training and workplace adjustment will be available.
