One of the UK's premier Facilities Management (FM) providers are now looking for an Authorising Engineer to govern and assure engineering operations across the contract, which is for a defence sector client, the portfolio consisting of corporate offices and production/manufacturing facilities. The key sites are located in Stevenage, Bristol and Bolton, and the role will require some travel, with this reduced once the incumbent is settled.
This is a major account with serious growth potential once current challenges have been resolved. The AE will play a key role in this, by having an account wide overview of SSoWs and AP appointments, as you will have a capable technical team managing day to day operational maintenance, freeing you up to have the big picture impact
This account is one of many in the business segment, and the longer term plan is for this AE to become SAE, operating across multiple Production Accounts.
We are looking for a current, or recent AE, or a strong HV SAP looking to make the step up, who is also people focused, understands how to work with a client, is considered and detail focused in their approach, while is comfortable operating on a big picture level, instead of getting distracted by day to day maintenance.
This role will line manage one person (Asset Manager).
A summary of actions will be:
- Ensuring a high level of client satisfaction, supporting on account leadership in the management of service delivery and where required driving local initiatives as well as ensuring consistency in processes, systems and reporting
- Ensuring the efficient and consistent operation of all facility Engineering activities to meet contractual obligations with respect to the Account portfolio.
- Implement SSoWs and appoint/maintain AP registry
- Support the development / execution and leadership to technicians and Engineers to site level Engineering budgets and forecasts in accordance with Group TS blueprints and the wider financial timetable.
- Participate in the quarterly forecasting sessions
- Look for opportunities to cross-sell services and work with other services lines to convert across Accounts
- Support and lead account technical leadership to be responsible for the leadership of all resources involved in the delivery of Technical Services. (E.g., recruitment, ethics, performance assessment, personal development, personal wellbeing etc. driving company standing as employer of choice.
- Actively manage the professional development of all account technical leadership under his responsibility.
- Prepare and implement a Succession Plan for each Engineering Services key position across the Account.
- Be responsible for the implementation of Engineering technology platform to support service delivery
- Support the development and ensure effective implementation standard operating and maintenance procedures and processes for the Account (Group blueprints)
- Drive client specific initiatives such as savings targets, benchmarking, and best practice, including EHS Risk Management
- Source, transfer and implement best practices to the Account from both Group products and performance and Country products and performance and wider community forums
We need from you:
- A strong level of M&E qualification, to AE level or HV SAP level plus experience on major accounts
