Yard Ball Sheffield is seeking a talented and passionate Food & Beverage Manager to help build and lead our team. Spread across over 30,000 sq, ft, Yard Ball Sheffield is a nostalgic football & social experience due to open in Summer 2024.

Our unique concept will transport visitors back to a time when football was fun and Social Clubs were a staple along side a chippy tea on a Friday. Fusing Social Club aesthetics, great food, 90’s culture and street football classics like Kerby and one-man Wembley, all while reminiscing about baggy kits, teletext scores, bad haircuts (usually by your mum), games on the garages or under the pub car park lights when it gets dark.

What we expect:

As a Food & Beverage Manager you will be guided by the values to lead by example and inspire your team every shift to ensure the highest standards of delivery at all times.

Role Responsibilities:

• To manage the day-to-day operations of the Yard Ball Cafe/Social Club in order to maximise business opportunities in line with the company business plan.
• To be part of the Food and Beverage team that provides an exciting, healthy, innovative, quality food and beverage operation in order to create demand which meets customer needs whilst increasing profitability.
• To provide the highest possible standards of Customer Care within a healthy and safe environment by guiding, caring for and assisting customers in their choice and use of the catering facilities.
• Ensuring excellent presentation of food and beverages to the customer at all times.
• Maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene and cleanliness at all times.
• Being aware of all Health and Safety issues, constantly implementing and assessing procedures, and drawing attention to any useful practices.
• Providing innovative ideas and initiating action to increase the usage of the Food and Beverage facilities.
• Ensure staff understand and observe matters relating to licensing laws.
• To assist in the provision of appropriate staff training and development.
• Working as part of a team to achieve the usage and profitability targets of the catering facilities.

The F&B Manager will focus day to day on the following tasks:

We want you to bring enthusiasm and your own character to the role. Yard Ball is about providing a positive experience of the game for all, no matter their ability. 

• Support the preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverages as appropriate.
• To ensure sufficient staff are available for the safe, high quality functioning of the Yard Ball Cafe/Social Club.
• Ensure that kitchens, food preparation areas, servery's and customer areas are clean and tidy, including the clearing of tables. 
• To ensure that Food and Beverage areas are well presented.
• To serve Food and Beverages as appropriate.
• To carry out Bar Services as required.
• To support specific events as required.
• Maintain Health and Safety and Food Hygiene requirements.
• Stimulate secondary spend by facility users by way of regular promotional activity.
• Monitor food and beverage stocks, restocking as required, ordering through our suppliers.
• To undertake any other duties as may be required to assist in the running of the overall facility.

Qualifications:

The post holder will preferably hold a recognised qualification in Catering, or related subject, Food and Hygiene Certificate along with strong knowledge of the Nathasha’s Law and Leisure or related industry in a small/medium sized enterprise.

Job specifics:

• 45hr working hours.
• It is expected that you will be available to work weekends and public holidays.
• Expected to have a reliable commute to work.
• Managing a team of up to 10 staff members.
• Reporting KPI’s weekly, monthly, and quarterly to the General Manager and Board.
• Liaising with all departments of the Yard Ball business including; marketing, sales, finance, operations and maintenance.
