We are seeking Chef with an interest and experience in Food Operations. We are an Education Caterer providing school meals in primary and secondary schools in London and the Home Counties.
This role has primary responsibility to make sure that the food being serves onsite to our schools is popular, delicious, and meets the expectations of all stakeholders.
This includes
- Implement and launch across our schools menus and recipes that are delicious and easy to follow by onsite Catering staff.
- Implement and launch theme days and support the sites with their success.
- Create and train to users allergy modified menus and recipes for pupils choosing a school meal.
- Be accountable to Company Management for the gross profit earned on the menus supplied, and understand strategies to improve onsite financial performance.
- Support with mobilisations / demobilisations of school contracts, by training new employees on the Company's food offer and standards.
- Provide onsite culinary skills training to onsite staff to improve the taste and presentation of food being served.
- Manage the food tender presentations, being able to confidently speak to prospective clients and consultants about our food and service, including preparing the food for tasting.
- Has a good eye for enhanced displays and can prepare and display everyday menu items to a high standard.
- Provide support cover for onsite chefs
- Manage and cater for international students during summer school (some evenings and weekends may be required)
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be highly organised and be able to develop relationships with key contact such as customers, clients and catering managers.
- Professional Cookery Level 3 qualification or equivalent catering experience
- Experience working in a culinary/catering role in the Education environment
- Ability to motivate and develop all levels of chefs
- Ability to deliver food presentations to all levels confidently and accurately
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels
- Financially astute with regards to food costings and margin management
- Ability to work on own initiative but within a set of Company core standards.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications including; Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Have experience using recipe management software, writing easy to follow, accurate recipes with full allergy management.
- Have a full driving licence.

Salary Negotiable (depending on experience and qualifications)
