Lab Technician
Up to £26 - 28,000 salary, Bristol, BS16, 28 rising to 33 days holiday with service, pension, parking, 4 x life assurance, Monday to Friday 8.00 - 16.30 (flexible start and finish around core hours), 37.5-hour week, Permanent role.
Opportunity to join a friendly and established manufacturer in Bristol as Lab Technician, quality technician, testing existing and developing new products within the adhesive coating and printing industry. This role could suit a recent graduate and reports to the operations manager.
Lab Technician, quality technician role and responsibilities:
- Testing and reporting of coated materials and print testing of new products
- Product developments and process improvement
- Testing and investigating defects and faulty product claims
- Reporting and responding to customers via Teams, email and phone
- Quality Control of Raw Materials, testing and reporting
- Supplier rejection reports and stock control returns
- Provide technical advice to customers and colleagues
- Organising external product testing including fire ratings, slip resistance and weathering
- Analysis and reporting of competitor products
- Preparation of lab coated samples
- Organise calibration of lab equipment
- Supporting management with the ISO 9001 & 14001 quality systems
Preferred Skills for the Lab Technician, quality technician:
- Degree or HNC/D or equivalent level qualification in a scientific field with a good knowledge of Chemistry or a related subject matter
- Familiar with FINAT test methods beneficial but not essential
- Experience in industry related practical analysis, lab or testing roles
- Analytical and highly organised
- Good communication and report writing skills
- Able to work in a stand-alone role but as an integral part of the team
