We are recruiting for a Food Production Team Leader to join a well-established production company in Wincanton, Somerset.
What you will do
As Team Leader, you will lead from the front, taking ownership of your shift and people. You will ensure your team is set up for the day and the necessary support is in place. Ideally from a food manufacturing background, your previous knowledge and experience of blending people management and production requirements will be key to your success.
- Plan your people and materials to effectively meet your daily targets.
- Allocate duties based on skills and experience.
- Be responsible and accountable for daily production requirements.
- Support the communications between Production and other departments.
- Monitor and support ongoing development of Operatives, promoting the training pathways and encouraging the advancement of knowledge amongst operatives.
- Uphold food safety, health & safety, and quality standards, holding others accountable for their actions and promoting best practice.
- Lead the people management of your team including recruitment, absence management, workload allocation, and timesheet management.
Skills and experience
- People management experience is essential.
- Food production experience is essential.
- Good IT skills
- Excellent communicator in both written and spoken English.
- Experience of working with the LEAN framework is desirable.

This is a full-time position, working 39 hours per week.
