Your Responsibilities
This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join one of the fastest growing companies in the area, and an exciting time to become a member of our successful team.
You will be responsible for managing a team of people, who work across two production facilities, and are directly responsible for GMP manufacture of our products. With the support of the Production Manager, your role will include overseeing the scheduled production activities, whilst ensuring health and safety standards are maintained, and the best utilisation of the teams and resources available. You will be accountable for ensuring production colleagues receive necessary training and day-to-day support, whilst also driving the continuous improvement activities that are assigned..
Your Responsibilities
  • ensuring people and resources are utilized in an efficient and effective manner to meet planned requirements while achieving quality and safety standards;
  • monitoring team members performance to ensure defined manufacturing procedures are being followed that comply with quality requirements;
  • maintain and monitor all records required and ensure they are accurately completed;
  • ensure that non-conforming materials are clearly identified and segregated;
  • oversee escalation procedures for quality concerns and make sure they are followed when required;
  • manage the production throughput against stated capacity targets;
  • communicate to the team important information so that they are aware of day to day targets and responsibilities;
  • manage work order closures and stock control transactions;
  • maintain visible lead for adherence to procedures and instructions;
  • monitor change over and/or line set up efficiency;
  • prepare lines ready for start-up for following shifts;
  • monitor and maintain all safety equipment and tools;
  • plan and ensure execution of training and development for your team;
  • perform root cause analysis activities to resolve problems; and identify business improvement opportunities within the organisation.
Standard working hours are 13.45pm-22.15pm Monday -Thursday. and 12.55pm - 20.35pm Friday, however, flexibility to cover other shifts will be required.
Your Profile
  • Experience in managing and motivating a team is essential.
  • Experience in ,mechanical/machine operative industry and sound knowledge and experience of lean manufacturing/continuous improvement techniques.
  • Formal qualifications in lean/continuous improvement are not essential but could be beneficial.
  • Ideally you will have worked within a GMP regulated facility or similar (BRC, ISO9001, BETA NOPS).
  • You must have excellent communication skills and a high level of IT literacy, in particular working with ERP systems
