The Beginning...

Ruby's Bakery was founded by Wendy & Dave Sullivan who between them have over 60 years' experience within the food distribution and baking industry.

The amazing cakes and teatime treat recipes are all devised and baked here within this family run business.

In 2007 Ruby's Bakery was established to satisfy a growing demand for traditional and contemporary high quality products. The bakery is SALSA certified and rated 5 out of 5 by food trading standards, so our products are made with total confidence and peace of mind that we conform to the highest food safety standards.

The Team...

"Family run" means just that! With three generations of our family showcasing their skills, from baking, new product development and hand finishing all the cakes right through to design work, office duties and deliveries, we are involved at every step of the process to ensure complete quality control.

But we couldn't do it alone. We have a great team of loyal and dedicated staff, some of which have been with us from the beginning, all working hard to make the fabulous cakes you know and love.

Ruby’s Bakery Ltd is growing and has some exciting opportunities for Production workers to join our busy cake factory team in Burgess Hill, Mid Sussex. We have full hours available to fill immediately.

We have two position's available for this department.

11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday

There may also be opportunity for overtime on weekends as well as during the week or extended working hour programmes available.

Responsibilities include:

• Operating industrial bakery machines.
• Weighing ingredients
• Basic Decorating of cakes
• Cleaning, washing up and other general tasks.
• Boxing and packing of cakes
• General warehouse duties

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the job satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education & Experience:

• Secondary school
• Production experience.
• Maths & English GCSE

Physical Demands:

This job operates in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role routinely uses machinery. To perform this job you must be physically fit and able to lift 20kgs.
