Our locally owned client has an opporutnity to join their expanding buisness based in Inverness. Currently looking for a Forest & Ground Care Workshop Supervisor you will be supervising the day-to-day work activities of all F&G Workshop staff- scheduling work and Fulfilling a Lead Technician role.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and delegate work to staff, monitoring and reviewing their workloads to ensure the Department runs smoothly and to an appropriate standard.
- Planning own work schedule, responding to new pressures, adjusting priorities as needed.
- Ensure parts are ordered and customer equipment is repaired in a timely manner as to make available as soon as possible.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping practices within the department.
- Supervise work practices to meet the Company s Health and Safety policy. Training of new members of staff in departmental and Company operating procedures and methods.
- Liaise with the departmental manager in procuring given tasks and compliance with departmental procedures to meet objectives including scheduling and costing.
- Maintain appropriate records regarding work schedules, rotas and repairs.
- Arrange cover and make adjustments to staff rota to cover for absence. Record and approve absence and extra hours worked/overtime.
- Monitor staff work performance and address any issues or concerns.
- Monitor work systems and procedures ensuring their effectiveness and take necessary steps to update. Advise relevant staff of such new procedures and give any necessary guidance/training.
- Diagnose faults and diligently undertake all core and other trade works, as instructed, ensuring that the quality of work meets the highest standards and that targets are achieved.
- Provide specialist technical advice and training to staff in the relevant techniques, drawing upon considerable depth of knowledge, skills, experience and expertise.
- Provide direct support to all levels of staff towards maintaining the highest level of customer service and upholding the clinets good name
- To keep the workshop clean, tidy and organised.
- Attend breakdowns as required or organise staff to attend.
- May be asked work at other branches if required.
Required Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a similar role with a proven track record is essential.
- Experience of supervising and guiding a team of workshop technicians is required.
- Vocational qualification, e.g. HND/HNC and/or SVQ Level 3 in mechanical engineering (or equivalent) with significant relevant work experience.
- IT literacy and basic familiarity with computer packages, e.g. Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work under time pressures.
- Able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to respond positively to new challenges and change.
- Able to demonstrate flexibility to achieve completion of tasks.
- Sound organisational and administrative skills, including managing time effectively.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- The ability to deal confidently with people with clear and effective communication skills both verbally and written.
