Job description

Main Duties

Freshwater Theatre Company is seeking experienced and passionate Drama Workshop leaders based in Greater London.

Skills and Experience Required

Freshwater has been offering primary and nursery schools high quality, affordable and engaging drama opportunities to support the curriculum since 1996.

We are looking to recruit versatile practitioners with considerable experience of single-handedly organising and leading large groups of school children, aged from 3 to 11, to facilitate workshop sessions involving role-play, storytelling, drama games and music, based on the curriculum.

We are also interested in:

Facilitators for our two-person history shows. You will require the same skills in workshop leading, must be comfortable with character performing, and have experience of performing to and working with large groups of 100+ primary aged children.

Modern Foreign Language facilitators to lead our storytelling workshops in primary schools, and our Interactive Language Performances in secondary schools (Y7/8 students). Applicants must have experience of single-handedly organising and leading large groups of school children, aged between 5 and 14. You must be fluent in Spanish or French, ideally speaking both languages.

All applicants should have an Enhanced DBS check or be prepared to undergo and pay for a DBS check before they can commence work.

Application deadline is Monday 15th April 2024 at 8am

Freshwater creates and promotes a culture of belonging within the organisation and wider Theatre/Drama-in-Education community. Differences are respected and valued; dignity, equality, inclusion and diversity are promoted; and everyone is encouraged and supported.

We want our company to better reflect the diverse cultures, ethnicities, languages and experiences of the children taking part in our workshops. We are particularly interested in applicants from groups currently underrepresented in our workforce. This includes facilitators who identify as part of the global majority.
